Description

Melissa Likas'ka – perennial herbaceous ethereal plant with a pleasant lemon smell. Stems are four-sided, branched. The flowers are irregular, white in color. Lemon balm is harvested at the beginning of flowering, cutting off the upper part of the plant together with the leaves. Leave at least 10 cm of stems. Harvesting is done in the afternoon, in dry, sunny weather. Moderate pruning of young shoots is allowed: lemon balm continues to grow and bloom after that. Unpretentious in drying, it can be dried in the open air, in rooms with constant access to air, laid out on the floor or hung in bundles. It is necessary to protect the raw materials from direct sunlight and mix them. The ready-made lemon balm herb is stored in dry, well-ventilated rooms, in regular or crushed form. Retains medicinal properties for 1 year.
