The healing properties of black rowan are well studied, the plant has found its use in both folk and traditional USES Fruits of black rowan (Fructus Aroniae melanocarpae) are used for the production of vitamin juices, jams, tablets, especially rich in vitamin P, and also organic food dyes in the food and confectionery industry. Black rowan fruits are used in scientific medicine as a hypotensive, capillary-strengthening, diuretic and choleretic, multivitamin agent, in particular for the prevention of P-vitamin deficiency. In traditional medicine, they are recommended for use in gastritis with reduced secretion of gastric juice, atherosclerosis, thyrotoxicosis, hemorrhagic diathesis, glomerulonephritis, for the treatment of radiation sickness, hand dermatitis in radiologists.
