Description

Botanical characteristic Hawthorn prickly (or common) — it is a shrubby plant or a small tree 2–4 m tall. It has prickly reddish-brown branches with sharp spines. Alternate leaves, obovate: above — shiny, dark green color, from below — lighter, with a wax coating. Hawthorn Berries (Crataegus) USES Hawthorn fruits are dried in the sun or in special dryers at a temperature of 50-60 °C. After — sort through, discarding empty shields, spoiled fruits, sepals, peduncles. This can be done using a sieve. The percentage of dry raw materials is about 40%. For the treatment and prevention of diseases, a decoction, extract or tincture of hawthorn fruits is prescribed. The fruits are used not only as an independent herbal remedy, but also used for the preparation of herbal preparations. The best therapeutic effect is achieved in a mixture with dog nettle, chamomile and dried flowers.
