Description

A semi-shrub with a slender branchy red-brown stem and erect flower-bearing twigs. The leaves are opposite, oblong with point glands. The flowers are double-lipped, pinkish-lilac, in axillary half-whorls, collected in a capitate inflorescence. The fruit consists of 4 nuts. Threshed dried creeping thyme grass is used as a medicine. It is a mixture of flowers, leaves and pieces of thin twigs. Therefore, for harvesting, the entire above-ground part of the plant is cut off. Raw materials are harvested in the flowering phase of thyme — during June-July. To do this, the upper grassy shoots are completely cut with a knife, secateurs or a sickle, with the exception of coarse woody stems located close to the soil. You can collect grass again for harvesting on the same site no earlier than after 2-3 years.
